U.S. Case Law & Dockets

  • Search CourtListener for recent Federal Circuit opinions on claim construction and prosecution-history estoppel, then summarize the three most-cited and give me Bluebook citations.
  • Pull the docket for Acme Corp. v. Globex in the District of Delaware — list the parties, lead attorneys, and the last ten entries, and flag any pending dispositive motions.
  • Build a citation network for KSR Int'l Co. v. Teleflex Inc., 550 U.S. 398 — which later opinions cite it most heavily on obviousness?

USPTO Patent Prosecution

  • Look up U.S. application 17/123,456: give me the current status, the most recent Office Action, and the claims as last amended.
  • Search PTAB trials where petitioner Apple Inc. filed in the last 18 months challenging patents in CPC class H04W, and summarize the institution outcomes.
  • For application 16/987,654, retrieve the latest non-final rejection, identify the §103 references, and download the examiner's search notes.

EPO Patent Data

  • Find the EPO family for US patent 9,876,543 — list every member, their jurisdictions, and the current legal status of the EP member.
  • Convert EP3000000 to its publication and docdb formats, then pull its register status and any pending oppositions.
  • Search EPO for granted patents on solid-state lithium-battery electrolytes assigned to Toyota since 2022, with CPC classifications for the top five hits.

Federal Rules

  • What does FRCP 26(b)(1) say about proportionality in discovery? Quote the current text and summarize the relevant Advisory Committee Notes.
  • Pull FRAP 4 and tell me how the time for a notice of appeal runs when a timely Rule 59 motion is pending.
  • Compare the standard for excluding expert testimony under FRE 702 before and after the 2023 amendment, and quote the amended rule.

MPEP & U.S. Code

  • Pull MPEP § 2106 and summarize the current subject-matter-eligibility analysis (the Alice/Mayo two-step) as examiners apply it.
  • Retrieve 35 U.S.C. § 102 in full, including the statutory notes, and explain the one-year grace period under §102(b)(1).
  • Search the MPEP for guidance on restriction requirements and election of species, then give me the controlling sections and 37 CFR cites.

Federal Register & Rulemakings

  • Find USPTO proposed rules published in the last 6 months that are still open for comment, and give me each comment deadline.
  • Pull Federal Register document 2025-12345 — summarize the action, effective date, CFR parts affected, and the RIN, with a link to the full text.
  • What's on public inspection from the FTC right now? List anything filed but not yet published, with expected publication dates.

CFR & Federal Regulations

  • Pull the current text of 37 C.F.R. § 1.56 and compare it to the version in effect on June 1, 2020 — did the materiality standard language change?
  • Search the CFR for regulations on inter partes review institution in Title 37 and give me the governing sections.
  • Were there any published corrections to Title 21 regulations outstanding in early 2024? My client relied on the labeling rules that January.

SEC EDGAR

  • Pull the last three 10-Ks Apple filed and give me links to the exhibit indexes — I need the material-contracts exhibits.
  • Has anyone filed a Schedule 13D on Twilio in the past two years? I want to see amendments too, with filing dates.
  • Search 8-Ks since 2024 mentioning material weakness in internal control — we're benchmarking disclosure language for a securities-fraud matter.

Sanctions Screening (OFAC / CSL)

  • Before we sign the distribution agreement, screen Mashreq Trading FZE and its principal against OFAC and the Entity List, and give me a record of the result for the deal file.
  • We got a hit on the SDN list for our counterparty — pull the full designation, including aliases, addresses, and the Federal Register notice, so I can confirm it's the same entity.
  • Has any of the export-control lists changed since June 1? I need to know whether the screens we ran for the closing are stale.

Prior Art Discovery

  • Run a prior-art sweep for extended-release injectable aripiprazole before our March 2012 priority date: USPTO pre-grant publications, PubMed, and ClinicalTrials.gov dosing disclosures.
  • Pull the Common Citation Document view for US10047163 — what did examiners at every office cite against this family? Strongest art (X/Y) first.
  • Search the academic literature and arXiv for transformer attention mechanisms published before 2018, then walk the seminal paper's citation graph backward.

Trademarks (TSDR)

  • Check the status of trademark application 97/123,456 — has an Office Action issued, and what does the prosecution history show?
  • Is registration 1,078,312 still live? Who's the current owner of record, and have the §8 and §15 filings been made?
  • Pull the document index for serial 98765432 and find the most recent Office Action so I can review the refusal grounds — give me the PDF link.

Deadline Calculator

  • We were served with the summons and complaint on June 12, 2026 — when is our answer due?
  • Judgment was entered January 15, 2026 in our case against the agency — what's the last day to notice an appeal?
  • The magistrate's R&R was mailed to us March 4, 2026 — when are objections due, and show me the math including the mail rule.

  • Find a patent-assignment agreement template, then adapt it for an inventor-to-startup assignment with a California governing-law clause.
